Hi, I’m La Parisienne Rose, I live in Paris, and I’ve just decided to embark on a trekking adventure in Nepal. A trek in Asia has been my dream for years and years, and I hope that this time this dream will finally come true.

But before I go, I know that it’s essential to prepare my body physically for the demands of the trek. I started researching for information. In this article, I’ll share with you some training and exercises that can help prepare your body for trekking

Pre-Trek Workout Routine

As I prepare for my trek, I know that it’s important to start with a pre-trek workout routine that will gradually build up my endurance and strength. This routine should include cardio exercises, strength training, and yoga, and I’ll be starting my training several weeks before my trek.

Cardio Exercises for Trekking

Cardio exercises are a crucial part of my pre-trek workout routine, as they can help me build my cardiovascular endurance. Running, cycling, and swimming are all excellent options, and I’ll be aiming for at least 30 minutes of cardio exercise, three to four times a week.

Strength Training for Trekking

To strengthen my legs and core, I’ll be incorporating strength training exercises such as squats, lunges, and calf raises into my pre-trek workout routine. I’ll also be adding upper body exercises like push-ups and pull-ups to improve my overall strength.

Yoga for Trekking

Practicing yoga can help me improve my balance and flexibility, which will reduce my risk of injuries on the trail. Yoga poses such as warrior, tree pose, and downward dog are all excellent options for building lower body strength and flexibility. Plus, yoga can also help me reduce stress and promote relaxation, which will be beneficial during long hikes.

Building Endurance for Trekking

Building endurance is crucial for trekking, and I’ll be increasing the duration and intensity of my cardio exercises gradually to improve my cardiovascular endurance. I’ll also be incorporating interval training into my routine, which involves alternating between high-intensity and low-intensity exercises. This will help me build my lung capacity and improve my overall endurance.

Preventing Injuries While Trekking

As I prepare for my trek, I know that preventing injuries is essential. I’ll be wearing appropriate footwear and clothing, such as sturdy trekking shoes and breathable clothing. I’ll also be bringing a first-aid kit and learning basic first-aid skills. Stretching before and after my trek will also be important in preventing injuries.

In conclusion,  I know that physical preparation is essential. A pre-trek workout routine that includes cardio exercises, strength training, and yoga can help you build your endurance, strength, and flexibility. Building endurance and preventing injuries are also important factors to consider when preparing for a trek
